You probably already have figured this out but playing any brass instrument is not a walk in the park.
Unlike easier instruments like guitar drums piano and more where every note there is at your disposal and you're not required to hold your breath and blow your brains out when you make music, brass playing is extremely challenging because you have to master the physical part of it before you can really make good music...INCLUDING not being able to breathe normally while you're making music!!

Interestingly, brass musicians including those that are Highly Educated seem to miss this point where they focus on the music first and the physical part of brass playing last.

This is proven and verily evidenced by all the university professors, teachers and Brass players who really can't play their horn and have not mastered the upper register of their instrument.
One could argue that if you have a doctorate in music on a particular brass instrument, you should be a master of that brass instrument in all registers and all techniques and all styles otherwise why were you awarded a doctorate in that instrument?

There truly is nothing worse than going to hear a recital or concert from a brass musician who lacks the physical ability but knows all the stylistic considerations.
