CMI 2025 Part B Explained by a Korean Math YouTuber | CMI BSc Entrance Exam
0:00 Introduction
0:50 Problem B1
16:35 Problem B2
25:42 Problem B3
32:48 Problem B4
47:24 Problem B5
58:23 Problem B6
*A small correction: At 49:25, even if f(x) is differentiable, it does NOT necessarily mean that f'(x) is continuous. A classic example is
f(x) = x²sin(1/x) if x ≠ 0,
0 if x = 0,
which is differentiable everywhere but f'(x) is not continuous at x = 0. This does not invalidate the solution to the problem, but I think this is still worth mentioning.
Thanks to @thatdudeakshay for informing me on this.
Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI) provides a official solution to their entrance exams, but a viewer suggested me to provide more detailed explanation on problems from Part B of BSc (undergraduate) entrance exam. In that spirit, the explanation in this video mostly follows the official solution but with additional details whenever I feel necessary, even though other methods may be possible for some problems.
Visit Chennai Mathematical Institute, where entrance exams problems are also uploaded: https://www.cmi.ac.in/
