2020-11-09 Cubbie: When one door opens, Another closes...

Cubbie's journal entry, Day 80:

Mei Xiang had just been outside enjoying a treat. Shortly after, when the camera switched to room 3, there she was sitting enjoying another treat (pear?), and cubbie was there too (the mystery is how he got there)!

During this time, the keepers are in the process of cleaning and stocking the rooms with bamboo and treats for the overnight hours. But they cannot do it while Mei Xiang is in a room. So you'll see the door between 2 and 3 close while cubbie is nursing (and the keepers work in room 2). Notice cubbie appears to be used to this sound, and Mei is interested in what they are doing, but cubbie also has her attention.

After the door opens, Mei carries/swiffers cubbie into room 2. We see her enjoying her treats while cubbie does his motivated locomotion. I'm not sure where the microphone is for room 2, but you'll hear the keepers talking, running water, doors ... but those sound louder than they really are, whereas cubbie's cries for Mei Xiang can "bearly" be heard. He did not want to be left behind!
