By March of 2023, professional basketball player Bryn Forbes, aged 29, was back living with his mother with no viable options for the future of his athletic career. A source close to Forbes told the media “he believes that his NBA career is no longer an option and he blames himself for this”. Forbes had been playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves and was on the verge of being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, a team with which he’d previously become an NBA Champion in the 2020-2021 season. However, around Valentine’s Day 2023, Forbes was arrested. He’d had a heated argument with his fiancée Elsa Jean. 26-year-old Jean, who was roughly a foot shorter than Forbes, required medical treatment after she was reportedly left with bruises all over her body and two black eyes. The basketball player was arrested on February the 15th at a residence in north-central San Antonio and charged . He was booked at the Bexar County Jail but the charge was ultimately dismissed in July of 2023. In the violent incident’s wake, Jean moved out and broke off their engagement but reportedly kept her $30,000 engagement ring, claiming she’d felt entitled to do so for what Forbes had “put her through”. Updates on the basketball player’s situation indicated he received no offers from NBA teams.
