“My name is Mārtiņš, but most people know me simply as Šmits. That doesn’t bother me. I could even say I like it, because I’ve never really felt like ‘Mārtiņš’ all the way through. Also, I’m someone for whom music is very important to a full life, and as a result, over the years I’ve accumulated quite a large vinyl record collection, which I like to lug around (because who really needs their back anyway?).”
