SHE invested wifi & the hims can thank HER: Hedy Lamarr #4b

SHE inveted wifi. you are welcome hims

males have been capitalizing on the ideas, creations, inventions, swest, blood & work of women for CENTURIES! wirhout giving women the credit

not sure how many times im going to have to scream about this before your tiny brain starts to wake up but here we are AGAIN!

Her name was Hedy
Her name was Hedy Lamarr. And yes, Hollywood knew her as one of the most beautiful women on the planet. But while the studios were busy selling her face, she was busy saving lives.

In 1942, during World War II, she co-invented a “frequency hopping, spread spectrum communication system” designed to make radio-guided torpedoes harder for the Nazis to detect or jam. She and her co-inventor, composer George Antheil, donated the patent to the U.S. Navy. The Navy’s response? They told her she could do more for the war effort by selling kisses at bond rallies. On one occasion, she raised $7 million doing exactly that.

They took her invention. They ignored her name. And they never paid her a dime.

The patent expired before the technology was ever developed, so neither inventor made any money from it.

Here’s the kicker. That core idea, frequency hopping, became so fundamental that by the 1990s the FCC required it as the standard for secure radio communications. It became the backbone of Bluetooth, early cell networks, GPS, and WiFi.

She wasn’t credited for her invention until late in her life. In 1997, she and Antheil finally received the Electronic Frontier Foundation’s Pioneer Award. She passed away in 2000. She was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2014, nearly a decade after her death.

Every time you connect to WiFi, you are using the mind of a woman the world spent decades pretending was just a pretty face.

Say her name. Hedy Lamarr
