You can even create your mirror with different sized drives and different models and different branded drives. You can even create a RAID volume consisting of mixed drives types (ie. a PCIe NVMe drive and a rotating drive, or PCIe NVMe and an SSD SATA drive).

Other people say you need to try getting an exact matched pair of drives, or you need to clear them with a partition manager, or format them a certain way then they can be configured in a RAID array. None of that works.
