Andre Agassi v Jimmy Connors USO 1989

Jimmy Connors was a legendary figure at the US Open. He had won five US Open titles between 1974 and 1983. By 1989 he was a veteran competing against men much younger than himself. In the quarter finals of the 1989 US Open, 37 year old Connors faced 19 year old Andre Agassi. It was a five set thriller, full of drama and noise. In between the planes flying low overhead, the crowd could be heard yelling, demanding nothing less than a Connors victory. At this stage, in his career, Connors felt so at home at Flushing Meadow that he would often shout comments into the on-court microphones. "Give this guy a chance to choke!" yelled Connors as Agassi established a lead in the fifth set. Would Connors' young and talented opponent be able to concentrate amid the turmoil?
