How to Prevent a Washer & Dryer From Overflowing and Catching on Fire Stop Flooding and lint buildup

In this video I go over the simple steps I always take to avoid mishaps in my customers homes. Checking and double checking it’s just part of the game of selling used appliances. The main cause of fires for dryers is lack of airflow from lent buildup. Lent is very flammable And the exhaust pipe coming out of the customers house has probably been neglected since it was originally installed. Always check to make sure it is clean and the dryer is blowing out the vent outside of the house as hard as it would blow out of the dryer without the hose attached.
With washers you have to worry about flooding. The number one cause of flooding is the pressure switch not detecting the drum is full and just continuing to fill until it overflows. The second major calls is a stopped up drain in the customers house. They stopped up drain is not your fault but you should definitely double check that it’s not stopped up before you leave. If you are having a customer pick up A machine and do their own set up you must explain step-by-step how they need to check to make sure machine is working properly and that the power and vent are clear and safe.
