IQ Self Adapting Wireless Router test and Review-Automatically Fixes Internet Lag

I’ve been struggling for about a year and a half to get a good connection at my house. I’ve tried 3 routers, spent hours on the phone with tech support changing configuration settings, and even had my ISP out to check the lines 3 times. Still, half the time I had to hot spot my phone and use my 4g just to stream Netflix. I can’t oversell how excited I am that my search is FINALLY over! I’ve been using this router for 2 weeks and I can honestly say it is the best tech purchase I’ve ever made. I literally can oversell this.
Let me tell you why internet speed isn’t your first concern. The traditional speed test is a test of the overall capacity of the network. Basically just takes a packet of information and sends it to the server, then pulls another packet back to see how much the network can “hold”. It isn’t an accurate representation of the actually usability of your network. The real determinant of internet quality “buffer bloat”. I find pro/con lists to be the most helpful when researching product so I’ll put one up for you here.
Pros:
-Insanely easy to set up- Hands down the simplist setup of any router I’ve tried. There is a short wizard that walks you through the security settings and the router does the rest. You don’t have to mess with anything complicated.
-HUGE improvements in internet quality-I attached the tests below with a picture of my results chart (in case you don’t want to watch my whole video). You can clearly see that simply changing the router made a massive improvement to my performance.
-Perfect Streaming! Holy cow this was a HUGE change. I was watching Netflix with my wife the other day and she said “I can’t believe we just lived with buffering for that long”.
-You get what you pay for-for years I was paying for 100mbs and getting between 10-30, even when hard wired. There is always a small drop when you choose wireless vs wired, but I have consistently been getting 70-90 on wireless and 100+ when wired.
-Consistent performance. One thing that I found extremely impressive is the consistency this router provided. Whether I had one device or 10 connected, I got excellent performance. I was also really impressed that the quality of the internet stayed the same, even on nights and weekends. My old router couldn’t handle those times.
-Over the top customer service- The day after I installed the router I was running performance tests through the IQ website (it takes up to about a week for the router to learn your system and adapt but I was just curious). I got an email from the IQ team saying. “We noticed that the IQtests you've been running are not quite the A's we usually deliver and wanted to ask a couple of questions if you don't mind, as we'd like to help you get the most out of your IQrouter.” It ended up that my ISP was using an over-provisioning approach. She made a quick change and I my score went up to A. I can tell you 100% that the big brands would never care that much about the performance of their product. These guys went above and beyond.
Cons
-The only problem with this is that you can’t directly use it to run a network drive. They purposely made it that way so that it doesn’t interfere with traffic management but just know you’ll need to have an additional piece of hardware. Honestly, it’s not a big deal to me but it’s good to know about going into it. All in all, this is an EXTREMELY impressive piece of technology that will change the way you use the internet.
