Getting Lost In The Darkness | Alan Wake Retrospective

In 2010, Remedy released Alan Wake, a third-person psychological thriller action-adventure centered around a writer in the small town of Bright Falls trying to rescue his wife from the Dark Presence hiding beneath the lake. It became modestly successful and gained a seriously dedicated fanbase after its release, with several referring to the game as a masterpiece. But I've always found that label strange — for sure, the game is really good, but is it really deserving of that title?
