This Is Bad! The FED Is Playing With Fire. The selloff today highlights what we've been saying for some time on this channel that the FED is behind the curve on the inflation situation. Every single data point that we look at in the market is saying that inflation is on the rise in a BIG way and Powell just keeps down playing it for political purposes, saying "it's transitory". Instead of focusing on their real mandate, Powell is talking about income inequality and climate change! Further evidence that the FED is way too political. Commodities are at an all time high, labor shortages, rising gas prices, input prices rises and shortages in manufacturing, all point to a dramatic rise in inflation. Meanwhile, the FED continues to print $120 Billion per month and the government continues to flush Trillions of $$$$'s into the system. Stanley Druckenmiller expressed the exact same opinion (WSJ 5-11-21) in his Op Ed today in the Journal. The FED is truly playing with fire!
