peach-faced lovebirds and millet grass

A few weeks ago we removed all the nest boxes in this cage, with the intention of giving these lovebirds a break to breed. We also carefully cleaned several corners and threw away the shells of bird food scattered on the floor of the cage. Now the lovebirds just play and chirp every day. This time we gave them millet grass, and it seemed like the lovebirds looked curious and interested in chewing it. They could eat this millet grass, and that's fine. We've done this many times in the past and the lovebirds are fine.

The way to make millet grass is of course as simple as making other grasses in general. Prepare good quality seeds, soak the seeds for at least twelve hours, then leave the seeds in the tray while continuing to water them gently every day at least twice. You can put paper as a base for the tray, or soil, or you don't need a base either. What is clear is that the tray needs small holes in the bottom so that the water can flow out later. In this video I try to make millet grass on a wooden tray and use soil as a planting medium. That's possible... Although not all seeds can grow well. I don't know whether it was because the quality of my seeds was not good, or because I used soil as a base so the seeds were too moist and didn't germinate optimally.

By the way, enjoy watching this video :)
