Why Did Both The Jedi and Sith Really Hate This Lightsaber Variant?

Lightsabers came in all different shapes and sizes, from the spinning dual-bladed saber used by the inquisitors to the light whip found in legends. Yet, the Jedi and most Sith seldom deviated from the single-bladed lightsaber, nor did they attempt to master more creative lightsaber fighting styles. The Jedi reasoned that lightsabers that gave an unfair advantage mitigated the need for perseverance in the light side, while the Sith believed their use showed weakness. But of all the lightsaber variants, the Jedi and Sith hated one most of all, hence why it was so uncommon. Although extremely hard to master, this lightsaber was almost impossible to defend against. Known as the flicker phase blade, this lightsaber was similar to the lightsaber form Trakata. It ignited and extinguished at random intervals, preventing opponents from effectively blocking or entering into a saber lock; disorienting and defeating often confused opponents.
