♫METAL BEAT (Metal Masters) SNES Arrangement - NintendoComplete

This is an arrangement of Alberto Jose Gonzalez's main theme from Electro Brain's 1990 Game Boy game Metal Masters. I have arranged it for native playback on SNES hardware, and the audio was recorded directly from a launch model US SNES console.

Metal Masters is one of those games that's really only known (and really only worth knowing) because of its soundtrack, and since the game really only has one song, you know it has got to be good if it can save the entire ship from sinking. Gonzalez is one of those types of talents though. The mind boggles at how he actually managed to create the track on a Game Boy.

I went all in with the mid-80s electro sound here - gated snares and tambourines, detuned saws, and some heavy Moog bass. What do you all think? Was the instrumentation a good style match for the song?

I had fun making it. I kinda want to dance to it now :)

Here's a link to the .spc file if you'd like to listen to it with a SNES music player or a flashcart: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1TXWTkxWq_bRWEt9lcVSPdOsdWyB0Hs95/view?usp=sharing

And if you liked this one and would like to check out my other arrangements, I have a playlist of them all right here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3gSj_kh1fHueSujqQR8xQQ84DWIjrU4F
