Today I visited Adanac Valve Specialists Ltd — a UK-based industrial supplier operating behind the scenes of major sectors like water utilities, energy, and manufacturing 👀🏭

From the outside, it’s a typical warehouse + office setup, supplying everything from ball valves and actuators to pipe fittings and flow-control systems… but what happens when you take a closer look? 🎥🦂

➡️ During this visit, there were no issues from staff — full respect there 👍
But that doesn’t mean everything was in order…

⚠️ I identified:
• Incorrect / non-compliant CCTV signage 📹
• A balancing pond full of litter 💧🗑️
• No visible life-saving equipment (life buoys / throw lines) 🚫🛟

Now here’s where it gets interesting…

Under guidance like the CIRIA SuDS Manual (C753) and standard planning expectations, ponds in public or semi-public commercial environments are usually designed with:
✔️ Safe gradients
✔️ Warning signage
✔️ Rescue equipment where risk is present

👉 While not always a strict legal requirement, failure to address these risks could raise questions under the Occupiers’ Liability Act 1957 — especially if an incident occurred.
