Easter Island, also known as Rapa Nui, is a very tiny and remote island in the Pacific Ocean. But for a small place, this island has a lot of mysteries. Like for example, how did people manage to bring all those “Moai” Stone Statues into this tiny island? And why? I mean, the closest neighbors to this island are 1,300 miles away! Why would someone navigate that far? Today we’ll be exploring “Mysterious Places On Earth.”

Banff Springs Hotel, Canada

We start the list with a hotel that looks like the perfect scenario for a recreation of Stephen King's The Shining. This big hotel has become famous due to many ghost stories and other mysterious happenings surrounding it. Local people tell the story of a family that was murdered inside the room 873. Others claim that there are ghosts of a doorman and a bride who come to visit every now and then. But what else can you expect from a hotel that's been operating since 1888? That's more than a hundred years of operations, so it shouldn't surprise us that these mysterious happenings are part of the experience. The owners of the hotel are so aware of these supernatural events that they even host heritage tours on a daily basis to tell visitors all about the haunted stories that surround this place.

The Crooked Forest, Poland

This forest is right outside Nowe Czarnowo, in Poland - very close to the border of Germany. In fact, this forest was planted when the location was still part of a German Province called Pomerania. What makes this place so mysterious is the fact that its pine trees bend sharply right above the ground level before they twist back again and grow vertically straight. All 400 trees grow in this way, which is quite odd. Most people believe that the shape of these trees are a product of human intervention, but no one has been able to prove or even determine how this came to happen. It is also believed that the trees were shaped this way so they could be used in furniture or boat building. Others believe the trees developed like this after a lot of awful snowstorms.
Eternal Flame Falls, USA

When you get to Chestnut Ridge Park in Erie County, New York, you would probably never think too much of it. It looks like any other national park in the United States. But if you explore it deeply, you'll find the southwest portion of the park, the one that many people call "Shale Creek Preserve." This part of the park is very intriguing and inside of it you can find the Eternal Flame Falls, a place where you can witness a flame of fire that never goes out, even though it's at a very wet spot, right behind some waterfalls! According to experts, this phenomenon is possible thanks to the presence of natural gas that comes from the underground.

Bhangarh Fort, India

Behind this huge building there's an eerie and dark story - one about a princess and her failed captor - the Wizard Sinhai. Apparently, the wizard was so obsessed with the princess, that he tried to get her attention by giving her a love potion. Unfortunately, things didn't go well for Sinhai as he ended up dead. However, he managed to cast a spell on all the inhabitants of the place and today, this place is one of the most haunted places in India. You can visit this place as a tourist, but you're not allowed to go in after dark. As of today, many deaths have been reported and people claim that it has something to do with Sinhai's curse.

Highgate Cemetery, England

Alright, if we're gonna mention cemeteries, I'm sure we could include many of them on this list. And I know a lot of you probably have plenty of crazy stories that involve these places. But there's one cemetery in particular that stands out among the rest - it's the Highgate Cemetery in England. It is considered to be the most haunted place in all of England and all the plants growing around the tombstones just add to the eerie feeling of walking into this space.
