How to tell if a molecule is polar - Polar Molecules - Part 3 - Real Chemistry
This is the last video in a series on polar molecules:
Polar Molecules Part 1
How to tell if a BOND is polar
https://youtu.be/QENWWHU8vRE
Polar Molecules Part 2
How to tell if a molecule is symmetrical
https://youtu.be/nmssiDwyUno
Polar Molecules Part 4
How to tell if organic molecules are polar
https://youtu.be/vpUEGECPmsA
In this video you will learn how to determine if a molecule is polar. Two things are needed for a molecule to be polar 1) it needs to have polar bonds and 2) there must be asymmetry in the way the bonds are arranged around the atom. If both conditions are met the molecule has a net dipole moment and is polar. If just one or none of these conditions are met, the molecule is non-polar. This video walks through how to determine if a molecule is polar.
