Grishuk & Platov (RUS) - 1994 Lillehammer, Ice Dancing, Free Dance

Hamar, NORWAY - 1994 Winter Games, Ice Dancing, Free Dance - Oksana Grishuk and Evgeny Platov of Russia won the Free Dance to win the Gold Medal here, but not without controversy here. The controversy would focus on 2 rules that were deemed violated in the Free Dance -- more than one instance where the partners were completely separated for more than the alloted 5 second periods at a time, and two lifts that were questionable for their legality. The judges failed to mark the couple down for any of the violations.
