Project setup — Compose, Hilt, Room & Retrofit -Recap

Episode 2 is a live-coding setup episode. The viewer creates the Android project from scratch and wires up every library the course will use. The goal is a green build with a working dependency graph before any business logic is written. Keeping the episode tightly focused on scaffolding — not features — means the viewer never has to untangle 'where did that come from?' in later episodes.
Learning objectives
By the end of this episode, the viewer will be able to:
Create a new Android project configured for Jetpack Compose
Set up Gradle version catalogue (libs.versions.toml) for dependency management
Add and configure Room, Retrofit, Hilt, and Kotlin Coroutines
Write and install a Hilt application class and the @HiltAndroidApp annotation
Verify the dependency graph compiles and the app launches on an emulator
Understand why each library is included and what role it plays in the offline-first architecture
