Tenerife: What Happens When Two 747's Collide | Mayday Mysteries

On March 27, 1997 two Boeing 747's collided at Tenerife Airport, causing the deadliest air accident in history, that actually took place on the ground. In this video, we'll get into what happened, why it happened, and what we can learn from this tragedy.

In this new series Mayday Mysteries, I'll be going over different air disasters in history in storytelling format. In our pilot episode, we'll dissect Tenerife Air accident, a collision between KLM and Pan Am 747's as a result of pilot error, poor weather, misunderstood communication, and just bad luck. But, we have learned a lot from this disaster, and there are many changes this incident brought forth, we'll be diving into them in the later half of this video.
