Turning Composting Might Be a Waste of Time (AND WRONG)*

Should you always turn compost? It depends. Different materials require different microorganisms to break them down. Given that, you should try to create the conditions that those particular organisms need, which means sometimes you shouldn't turn your pile. When building a pile think about the materials going into the pile and turn or not turn, based on that.
