Great Movie Themes 7: Life Is Beautiful 2 (Love/Secondary Theme) by Nicola Piovani

This magnificent grand romantic theme comes from the Italian Oscar winning Holocaust drama Life Is Beautiful directed by and starring Roberto Benigni.

I love the slow progression and the beautiful touch of tragedy in this theme. Its truly a very moving piece of music and the music won the Oscar for Best Score.

The best performance of this theme arguably did not even come in the movie. It came when Roberto Benigni won the Best Foriegn Language Film Oscar and hopped up the stairs of the stage to collect the prize from Sophia Loren.
