Here is the Folio Society edition of James Joyce's "Finnegans Wake". A fine edition bound in buckram with a leather inset label.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

It took James Joyce 17 years to write "Finnegans Wake" (I will call it The Wake), and this comic fiction is said to be one of the most difficult reads in the English language.

"Owing to the work's expansive linguistic experiments, stream of consciousness writing style, literary allusions, free dream associations, and abandonment of narrative conventions, Finnegans Wake remains largely unread by the general public."

The book was published in 1939, only two years before the death of the author.

BINDING & PAPER:

The book is bound in buckram with a leather inset label. The symbols, moon and stars are in silver, the leather in a blue color and the letters engraved in the letter are silver. It is smyth-sewn with acid free, neutral Abbey Wove paper, printed and bound in Germany. The book size is: 11½" x 8".
The illustrations are printed on photo paper, not glossy though but it's not Modigliani paper.
The top edge of the paper is gilded in silver and the headband is in black and white.
A slip-case with a lightning strike stamped in silver, is also included. The top and bottom of the slip-case is extended.
I personally really like this edition, especially it's size and artwork by John Vernon Lord. I do plan to purchase "Ulysses" in the same series by the Folio Society in the future.

CONTENT:

This edition of The Wake is illustrated by the artist John Vernon Lord and the book is blocked in a design by the artist as well. There 12 illustrations, including the frontispiece.
It is edited by Danis Rose and John O’Hanlon, and introduced by David Greetham. The book also contains an introduction to the illustrations.
It is 536 pages long.
