"Oh, Lady be Good!" Ella Fitzgerald
"Oh, Lady be Good!" was written in 1924 by George and Ira Gershwin for the Broadway show, Lady, Be Good! Ella Fitzgerald first recorded the song in 1947. This ballad version from her 1959 Verve album Ella Fitzgerald Sings the George and Ira Gershwin Songbook, arranged and conducted by Nelson Riddle, demonstrates why she was one of the great singers of the Twentieth Century.
