A Restaurant of His Own - Tokpe Gola

Pasang Sherpa, who owns the popular Tawa restaurant in Queens, often works 15 hours a day serving over 600 meals. Here he tells part of the story of his life, growing up herding yaks in the remote valley where the endangered language Tokpe Gola is spoken, coming to America, owning a business, and learning to speak a mix of his native language, Tibetan, Nepali, and English.

In a mixed variety of Tokpe Gola (Tibetan), with English subtitles.
