Climate change causes longer summers and hotter temperatures in Washington. Matt Eberlein is the Prescribed Fire Program Manager at Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. He warns that wildfires are getting more intense now. Matt knows how to help.

A prescribed burn is a controlled fire set by professionals. The controlled fire burns up piles of leaves and logs known as “fuel.” By reducing fuel in the spring and fall, wildfires can be less intense in the summer.
