Cloudbusting - Kate Bush piano vocal cover

A couple of years ago when 'Running Up That Hill' was featured in Stranger Things, the whole world either discovered Kate Bush or was like "well yeah, well done for catching up!" Everyone went mad for it. And rightly so. But I would argue that this is possibly an even better Kate Bush song - Cloudbusting.

What do we think? I remember being played this song when I was 18 and in a recording studio on a barge on the Thames and my producer and engineer were like - listen to this it will knock your socks off. They turned all the lights off in the studio apart from all the spaceship lights of the faders on the mixing desk. Switched to the 'listening' (as opposed to monitoring) big speakers in the control room and turned it up full blast.

It blew my socks off! The mood of it! The strings! The marching snare (if you know me at all you'll know that I LOVE a marching snare!) and her amazing voice on top of it all singing about burying a yo-yo and "what made it special made it dangerous" and her dad being driven off in a big government car... I mean - how could my socks not have been knocked off!?

But I think this song is so ruddy good that it stands up completely on its own, stripped of all its production. So here's me again with my big coat again, just piano and vocal and one of the best songs ever written. ❤️
