Penn's Campus Fire and Emergency Preparedness Day

As a part of a national campaign, the University of Pennsylvania's Division of Public Safety and the Philadelphia Fire Department teamed up for the University's annual Campus Fire Safety and Emergency Preparedness Day. Featuring guest speakers Gene Janda, the chief of fire and emergency services at Penn, and Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers, the event promoted awareness of emergency preparedness and fire safety.

Personnel from the Philadelphia Fire Department, Penn's Fire and Emergency Services unit and Penn Police spoke to members of the community about fire safety and emergency preparedness, answered safety-related questions and shared safety literature.

Joseph Flores, a safety specialist with the Division of Public Safety's Fire and Emergency Services, talks about the importance of raising awareness about fire safety and emergency preparedness, not only on campus but across the city.
