Altered Book Cover - with Latex Lace and Rust Effects

I love creating Altered Books! I began creating one to use as an Art Journal recently... After perfecting the Latex Lace Casting Process. I knew I had to incorporate some into this project.

To create the cover of this Altered Book, I begin by creating Embossed Panels pigmented with Distress Oxide Inks and Metallic Waxes. These are then adhered to the covers of the book.

Adding endpapers and stenciled texture to the interior comes next.

Finally, with the addition of DIY Rust Paste, Latex Lace, and Bling, we end up with a richly textured, eye-pleasing Altered Book Cover. It's rugged, elegant & grungy!

DIY Coffee Stain: Just add as much Instant Coffee to boiled water as you like! I like to start by adding 4 TBSP of Instant Coffee Crystals to 1 cup boiled water, and then add more until the color is deep and rich.
