Compared to previous ASG Dan Wesson revolvers, the 715 model is truly a giant leap forward in terms of build quality, general finish, as well as a much improved trigger pull in SA/ DA (and less "trigger wiggle"), and a very ergonomic rubberized "Hogue"- style grip.

The weight balance and handling of the 715 revolver is very good. ASG have listened to their customers.

The grip unit also houses the CO2 cartridge loading bay, with the R.H.S grip section containing a well-designed integrated Allen wrench to tighten or extract CO2 cartridges. Above all, the revolver grip no longer feels like cheap plastic, or comes apart occasionally like on the old ASG Dan Wesson grip units. Hopefully, the various improvements will be applied to all ASG Dan Wesson replica revolvers over time.

Accuracy has much improved thanks to the new adjustable hop-up system located on the top of the barrel: it works very well indeed. Expect about 50-60 full power shots per 12 gram CO-2 cartridge at standard room temperature (20 Celsius). I have found the use of a regular Allen key to be more practical when tightening the CO-2 cartridge loading bay screw - as opposed to the one that comes as part of the gun grip.

The "full metal" construction has been achieved with moulded zinc alloy parts, with only the cylinder ejector rod and CO2 cartridge compression screw made of steel - which also explains the relatively low purchasing cost of these guns. The barrel underlug is tapped & drilled for an optional aluminium ASG accessory rail for a red dot sight or a pistol scope.

MY VERDICT: A serious, well-made replica CO2 airsoft revolver for low cost (and safe!) shooting practice at home (1.9 Joules), or for airsoft games when using the special low-power ASG cartridges.

The ASG Dan Wesson 715 has become a serious CO2 revolver replica, which leaves behind slightly toy-like appearances and handling of previous versions. Good value for money, although this will need to be confirmed by long-term durability criteria in view of the zinc alloy design of a gun also sold as .177 BB and lead pellet versions.
