In this guitar lesson, I will be going over a simplified way to fingerpick The Sound of Silence. When this song is played live there are definitely lots of different variations in the fingerstyle and playing. So I come up with a consistent fingerpicking pattern that you can use over The Sound of Silence to make it sound good enough to play at parties.

I will show you the real intro to the Sound of Silence and then I will demonstrate the fingerstyle we will be using for this guitar lesson. After that, I will demonstrate the strumming pattern I observed Simon and Garfunkel using when they perform the song live which is a very simple eighth note strumming pattern.
