'They Can Live in the Desert But Nowhere Else' - Ronald Grigor Suny
Starting in early 1915, the Ottoman Turks began deporting and killing hundreds of thousands of Armenians in the first major genocide of the 20th century. More than 100 years later, this history remains controversial, but is critical to remember as a turning point in the history of genocide prevention, international law and human rights. Author and professor Ronald Grigor Suny discusses the events in his new book They Can Live in the Desert, but Nowhere Else: A History of the Armenian Genocide.
Recorded April 27, 2015 in J.C. Nichols Auditorium at the National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial.
