The most beautiful House in SWITZERLAND: Guest House AESCHER - Alpstein SWISS ALPS

The perfect idyll in the Swiss Alps: AESCHER/Wildkirchli in the hilly Appenzeller land.
Switzerland is usually known to be expensive, but even in a country like this, traveling on budget is possible. Surprisingly some of the most beautiful places of Switzerland can be visited at low or even no cost. For visiting the “Destination of a Lifetime” as stated by National Geographic, you have to make your way to Wasserauen. This is gonna cost you about 150 CHF if you rent a car (if you travel in a group the costs can be split) or 80 CHF for a return train (40 CHF single ride without Halbtax) ticket from Zurich HB (main station).

Once arriving at Wasserauen, you can either take the cable car for 17 CHF (~17 USD) up to Ebenalp. The great thing is, you can also hike up to Ebenalp via Seealpsee, which is totally free of charge. It takes about 2.5 hours, but definitely it is worth it. Make sure you arrive early in this case!
The hiking trail is full of interesting things to see, Wildkirchlihöhlen, where Neanderthal humans used to live about 45-30’000 years ago, a catholic chapel called Wildkirchli and the amazing guesthouse Aescher. Having traveler a lot around Switzerland, I confidently can say: This house is one of the most beautiful ones I have ever seen. Why so? Its the unique location and its traditional look that make the house appear in a specially beautiful way. I highly recommend to have a break at the guest house Aescher, take a seat and some snack, and enjoy the great panorama. The Seealpsee is another highlight, which in my opinion is one of Switzerland’s most unique lakes due to its location. Surrounded by tall mountains this lake appears like a dreamy oasis. Hight tea break at the restaurant at the Seealpsee is highly recommended, the prices are fairly cheap for Switzerland.
