Costa Rica Surf Trip - TRAVELING 2020 *First Californians Back*

After the whirlwind of a year that 2020 was, I think it's safe to say anybody would jump on an opportunity to travel out of the country during these crazy times. We wanted to change it up so we booked tickets to Nicaragua only to have them canceled five days before we were scheduled to leave. Scrambling to figure out where to go, we found the travel requirements for Costa Rica which was opening to select states including California on October 1, 2020. After changing all of our flights, a Covid-19 test each, and the purchase of special insurance from the Costa Rican government we were off on a plane. According to the TSA agents at Juan Santamaría International Airport, we were the first Californians to legally enter the country since March 2020. This is the epic story of how we enjoyed a different part of the world during a time when almost every country on the map was locked down.
