NACCB 2020 #BlackBirdersWeek Mentoring Panel

In early June 2020, #BlackBirdersWeek was organized as a joint effort among about 30 young Black STEM professionals, and was the brainchild of Anna Gifty Opoku-Agyeman (@itsafronomics). Since then we’ve seen #BlackInAstro and #BlackHikersWeek and look forward to more virtual celebration of diversity in the sciences. In this session, please join #BlackBirdersWeek co-organisers; Chelsea Connor, a senior biology major at MSU Texas, Deja Perkins, a Conservation Biology Graduate Student at NCSU, Tykee James, Government Affairs Coordinator for Audubon, and Danielle Belleny, Wildlife Biologist and Science Communicator, to discuss their career paths, the importance of community engagement, and diversity in conservation.
