The Eric Andre Show and Bugs Bunny and The Eric Andre Show some more…

Hey everyone! I just want to start by saying I was overwhelmed with the support I received for the first video. I’ve only even become aware of this genre within the past year or so, and to see my first effort in becoming a part of the video essay world receive such kind words has been amazingly encouraging. I’ve been working on a follow-up for a while now, and though it’s been a difficult process, I’m equally excited to hear y’all have to say about my thoughts on The Eric Andre Show. When my friends first showed me The Eric Andre Show, I was a little turned off by some of the crazier moments, but the more I watched the more I grew to love his insanity. As always, the best way to help with the channel (if you’re interested) is to Like, Subscribe, Comment, Share with Friends, Post on Facebook, and upvote on Reddit. I really appreciate all the help and support. (And by the way, this is not going to be an Adult Swim-focused. No, this is just the beginning.)

I’d like to thank, first and foremost, Addie Meyer, for the immense amount of help she’s offer on these first two videos. I wouldn’t even have the Bart Simpson intro or the name, OneHandClap, without her. Thanks also to Alex Denny, Cody Biesanz, Max Nobel, and my older brother Alex Kaplan (for never getting sick of the classics).

For the rest of the boring Tony Lam stand-up routine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFaiWW81q_E
For the full incredible Jack McBrayer Interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jANThtZJGrs
And I’d like to thank Niconeve, whose channel can be found here (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcFiYMEKvpp3hf7y4OPhBfw) and who posted a bunch of the Eric Andre clips I ended up using. Always appreciate an assist from a fellow Youtuber.

All this is for educational purposes only. I don’t own any of this content.

Quick summary: I’m hoping to shift the narrative on Eric Andre from a type of television prankster to a traditional trickster archetype. I think the way he randomly shifts from one thing to the next is more in the tradition of Bugs Bunny than of shows like The Tom Green Show or Jackass. To frame this conversation, I show how he steps up a certain “logic” in a situation and then shatters that logic for the next over and over again, both to confuse and surprise his victims.
