Switch Axe has been my main weapon with over 3,000 hunts in Wilds, yet I still managed to clock a better time using Dual Blades, my fourth weapon choice, with an easier attempt too: https://youtu.be/rDK2xstTzfw

TL;DR: The weapon’s overreliance on Full Release Slash (FRS) is holding it back. Among other things that could be improved for Switch Axe, low-commitment attacks should simply deal more DPS and be more reliable by having higher MV and/or faster speed and recovery.
