Far Cry 4, CrossOver, Macbook M4 Pro : Performance test

Far Cry 4. This game has one of the best intros IMO.

Setup : Macbook Pro M4 Pro 24GB 12/16, Macos 15.5, CrossOver 25.0.1, DXVK, MSync.

Settings : 1440p resolution, High graphics settings.

The performance is about 55 to 70fps at the beginning survival run. The game is very playable with occasional slowdowns at 1440p. Sorry for the gameplay in the video.

This game only works with DXVK. DXMT gives black screen with sound, D3Metal either works or causes a minimize-maximize loop on start. I needed to use the DXVK_HUD=1 to measure FPS because Metal HUD kept disappearing after the intro for some reason.

Issue : The game has no sound for some key dialogs, essentially rendering the game unplayable.

Fix : Install “DirectX for Modern Games" into the bottle, set compatibility to Windows Xp, and then add "xaudio2_7, native, builtin" to Wine DLL overrides.
