The Falling of the Leaves

Here is my adaptation of “The Falling Of The Leaves” , a short and lovely little poem by William Butler Yeats. It is neither his most famous nor his best poem, but I liked its simplicity and its imagery mirroring the end of a love affair. Plus, this is my first original song so I had to start somewhere simple.
I had to rearrange a couple of words to make it fit and I felt it lacked a chorus so I came up with some lyrics of my own for it...sincerest apologies to Mr Yeats for my lyrical failings!
It’s nothing much but I thought it was pretty enough to share. I hope you’ll forgive my limited songwriting skills.
