VLOG: Tequila, Boats & Magic – My Day Trip to Lake Chapala & Ajijic! | Black Women Expats | Mexico

Y’all… this day was a vibe! 😍 I took a trip from Guadalajara to explore Lake Chapala and the Magic Town of Ajijic, and let me tell you—it was everything. From sipping tequila at a local distillery, to cruising on Mexico’s largest lake, to wandering the most colorful streets, I felt so at home in the energy of this place. 💛

We started with a quick stop at Vicente Fernández’s ranch, then headed to Los Magos Distillery to learn how tequila is made (and yes, I definitely had a few tastings!). After that, we had an amazing seafood lunch in San Juan Cosalá, hopped on a boat for a scenic ride across Lake Chapala, and then explored Ajijic—a town filled with murals, cobblestone streets, and an artsy, laid-back vibe. Our last stop was Chapala, where I took in the boardwalk, watched the Voladores de Papantla, and, of course, tried some local snacks!

I’m so grateful for experiences like this—Mexico is really that girl! 💕 If you’ve ever thought about visiting or even moving here, I hope this vlog gives you a little taste of what life outside the U.S. can look like.
