Stimulus Check Update 10-5-20: BREAKING NEWS $100 Million In $1,200 Stimulus Checks Pay Out

U.S. District Court Judge Phyllis Hamilton recently ruled that the IRS must stop withholding $100 million worth of stimulus checks from incarcerated Americans.

This $100 million is made up of at least 80,000 Americans that are currently behind bars, but still are eligible for their $1,200 stimulus checks.

Yaman Salahi, a lawyer from San Francisco explained: “Judge Hamilton’s order ensures that incarcerated people will receive the sorely needed economic assistance that Congress allocated.”

He continued: “The country is suffering during this pandemic and economic crisis, and incarcerated people and the families they rely on for support are no exception.”

This is great news, as any eligible American should be able to receive their CARES Act disaster relief funds in the form of a direct payment of $1,200.

Meanwhile, financial expert Jim Cramer made some encouraging comments recently about the US economy and the need for more stimulus funds right now.

After seeing the stock market climb back following good news over President Trump’s recovery, Cramer explained: “I think this is more stimulus. I really do.”

He continued: “This is hope on talks between Secretary Mnuchin and Speaker Pelosi that may be going on now.”

This comes after Trump Tweeted over the weekend: "OUR GREAT USA WANTS AND NEEDS A STIMULUS. WORK TOGETHER AND GET IT DONE! Thank You!"

I just hope that all of this momentum can result in the approval of another stimulus package before Congress leaves Washington once again.

Finally, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had some encouraging words in regards to getting another stimulus bill approved as soon as possible.

Speaking on CBS News yesterday, Pelosi explained: “we are making progress,” when asked about the state of a Phase 4 disaster relief bill.

In regards to the airlines cutting thousands of jobs, Pelosi stated: “don't fire people. You know, that relief is on the way.”

When asked if another stimulus package could be approved this week, Pelosi said: “That just depends on if they [the Republicans] understand what we have to do to crush the virus.”

With talks heating up and the President putting the pressure on Congress to get more stimulus funds to the people, I just hope that everyone can work together to get us our much needed disaster relief funds before they board their PJ’s and head home to ask for your vote.
