The frustrating side of nature photography - sometimes you don't get the shot

In this video I visit RSPB Coombes Valley Nature Reserve to take photographs of the birds. I did see lots of birds (including a redstart, pied flycatcher, GSW, Wren, Nuthatch and more), but they seemed to be very shy when I pointed the camera at them. This is the frustrating side of nature photography - the amount of potential great shots that I could have taken today was huge. However, because of either having equipment in my hand, focusing on something else or the birds just not presenting I finished the day without a really standout image. I still got some photos, but we are always striving for that amazing shot, aren't we?
