Century Spice Road Solo Gameplay

Thanks to a forum on Board Game Geek, it seems like Century Spice Road can be played solo. I've made some tweaks to the original post by Igor. After a few game plays, it seems solid.

Without spoiling the gameplay of this video, I want you to know I played a second time after shooting with the same rules and lost 75 to 59 = which is a point card difference. So, it seems like it works.

My additions to change the levels of game play:

Easy (beginner) - AI Merchant Cards are 1/2 point each, AI draws one cube each turn, place four coins above the top row of point cards.

Easy - AI Merchant Cards are 1/2 point each, AI rolls die for cubes (odd-one cube, even-two cubes), place four coins above the top row of point cards. -- THIS IS WHAT I PLAYED IN THE VIDEO

Medium - AI Merchant Cards are one point each, AI rolls die for cubes (odd-one cube, even-two cubes), place two coins above the top row of point cards.

Hard - AI Merchant Cards are one point each, AI rolls die for cubes (odd-one cube, even-two cubes), no coins are used.

Expert - AI Merchant Cards are one point each, AI draws two cubes each turn, no coins are used.

Another thought I had was instead of ending the solo game once all ten point cards are taken, you could play it like the multiplayer set-up and once you or the AI buys a fifth point card the game ends. That might make it a closer score and possibly a press-your-luck situation to get the most expensive card between two available.

What do you think about this solo version? How would you play it? Tell me in the comments below.
