Clayton NC Water Tower Time Lapse A

The Town of Clayton has an eye-catching new addition to the skyline. A brand new water tower will significantly enhance fire protection in the area and serve as a backup for the town's water supply. The huge tower, standing 120 feet tall, will also provide water to industry in the area, holding up to a million gallons of water! The $1.8 million dollar water tower is made possible with grants from the NC Rural Center and the Federal Economic Development Administration and a low-interest loan from the USDA. Located near Fire Station No. 2 on NC42 East, the tower was built by Caldwell Tanks Inc. of Louisville, KY. The Town of Clayton Seal and "Town of Clayton" name stand on the giant tank -- visible not only to drivers on NC42 -- but for miles in the surrounding area.
