Steyn's Song of the Week: There's a Kind of Hush - Peter Noone with Herman's Hermits

We're honored to present another live-performance edition of Mark's Song of the Week:

The marvelous pop songwriter, Les Reed, died a few weeks ago. He wrote this song with Geoff Stephens and thousands have recorded it - Johnny Mathis, the Carpenters, Trini Lopez. But Steyn wanted to hear it sung by the man who made it a worldwide hit, Peter Noone with Herman's Hermits. Peter talks to Mark about those early years of the British Invasion, performs the song acoustically, and then reprises it live before a capacity crowd.

"There's a Kind of Hush (All Over the World)", music and lyrics by Les Reed and Geoff Stephens

Peter Noone with Herman's Hermits:
Vance Brescia, Billy Sullivan, guitars;
Rich Spina, keyboards;
and Dave Ferrara, drums.
