On 6 August, 1914, Wilhelm II of Germany delivered this Address to the German People. This is an extract of his address:

Translation:
"It is up to the sword to decide. At the height of peace the enemy attacks. Therefore get up! To arms! Every dithering or faltering would be treason to fatherland."
