Forensic Evidence Doesn't Lie #shorts

The men and women who specialize in forensic evidence are truth seekers.

Why?

Because they are finding and exposing pieces of the puzzle that is science based, so therefore cannot lie.

Now, the interpretation of the evidence can be presented in a way that is biased, but the evidence itself is 100% truthful.

Here's an example: In 1996. Joseph Simpson brutally murdered a 17 yr old girl named Krystal Beslanowitch with several granite river rocks. For 18 years touch DNA from his hands lay undiscovered on those rocks.

When that DNA was collected by the M-Vac system and the primary profile was revealed as Simpson, truth was exposed in a big way.

During the trial, however, Simpson's defense team attempted to say the DNA from the rocks was deposited there via transfer, not directly from Simpson. Of course they had to say something, and had the jury bought that argument it would have been tragic, but the strength of the evidence was too convincing and Simpson was convicted.

The appeals court upheld the lower court's verdict as well, so we know the forensic evidence was very strong.

Bottom line is those that seek the truth must also follow the paths it directs. There are times when the forensic evidence found by the crime scene investigators isn't what the detectives thought it would be or reveal.

So there are times an investigation must take a turn and go in a different direction, and good investigators are able to pivot and not fight the evidence. Kudos to them!

All Things Crime is a new, comprehensive video series that will explore every aspect of crime and the ensuing investigation, one video interview at a time. The host, Jared Bradley, is the President of M-Vac Systems, which is a wet-vacuum based forensic DNA collection system, and has experience traveling the world training all levels of law enforcement and crime lab DNA analysts in using the M-Vac to help solve crime. Along the way he has met people from all walks of life and experience in investigating crimes, so is putting that knowledge to use in another way by sharing it in these videos.
