Tara Westover discusses "Educated: A Memoir" at the 2018 Library of Congress National Book Festival in Washington, D.C.
Speaker Biography: Tara Westover was born in Idaho, received her B.A. from Brigham Young University in 2008 and was subsequently awarded a Gates Cambridge Scholarship. She earned an M.Phil. from Trinity College, Cambridge, in 2009, and in 2010 was a visiting fellow at Harvard University. She returned to Cambridge, where she was awarded a Ph.D. in history in 2014. "Educated: A Memoir" (Random House) is her first book. It is the story of a child who never saw the inside of a classroom until she was 17, having been raised by a fanatical father.
