ENGLISH CLASS REACTS TO BTS (방탄소년단) 'DNA' MV

PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION AND PINNED COMMENT FOR CONTEXT.
After watching all of the HYYH cycle in class, these students reacted to the newest BTS MV. In class, students looked at the connections across the BTS discography, observing layers of meaning (symbols, references, etc.) in the music videos. For example, they read "The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas" and watched "Spring Day" to see how the two texts interacted. They likewise watched and analyzed the WINGS short films.

Then, they considered audience reactions as "participatory culture."

Yes, they did all of this in a college-level English course.

Originally, the students were going to have a discussion section at the end of the video, but this could not be included due to time constraints and technical issues. After a few weeks, the students analyzed at the data for this video and considered how the video circulated.
